Here’s the deodorant I’ve been using for awhile and found that it works better than any of the natural store bought versions!
Beeswax pastilles (I bought organic from Amazon)
and your choice of essential oils ~ about 25-30 drops total
This recipe makes roughly 5oz when finished. I used these 2 oz containers I bought on Amazon so one recipe fills about 2 1/2 containers…so better to double and fill 5 tubes! But you can also just reuse a couple of old containers you have around.
Use a small saucepan with about an inch or so of water and then put the beeswax and coconut oil in a mason jar that sits inside the water/saucepan. I reuse this same mason jar just for this sort of project because the wax can get a little messy and I don’t want to clog up any drains with it!
Over medium heat melt the coconut oil and beeswax together. Once melted, I remove from the burner and add the baking soda and arrowroot and stir with a small whisk. Because the wax can harden rather quickly, I sometimes put this back on the burner to completely mix.
Remove from the burner, mix in the oils and then pour into your empty containers.
That’s it! Let the deodorant completely cool before using ~ or help it along with a short bout in the fridge to harden.
