I’d like to share something that we keep around for earaches–garlic oil. When one of us has an earache, I insert a few drops into each ear and place a small amount of cotton to keep it from dripping. You can use this as often as needed, but we usually only do it 2-3 times a day.

Go ahead and put it in both ears, even if just one is hurting. You can also purchase this ready-made but it’s not hard to make.

To make your own you need:

Extra Virgin Olive Oil

2-3 cloves of Garlic

Warm about a 1/2 cup of EVOO on low heat. Then add two or three crushed garlic cloves, cover and remove from heat. I let mine sit for awhile (probably a few hours). Then strain off the garlic pieces, bottle and store in the fridge until needed. Don’t forget to warm the oil to body temp before using.

Willow-and-Garlic-Ear-OilIf you’d prefer to purchase some, I have used “Herbs for kids: Willow and Garlic Ear Oil Drops” before with good results, too.

Here it is at Vitacost
