I received this recipe from Elaine Newkirk during a hormone health class. Sometimes random, awesome tidbits pop up during a class like this that are not topic specific, but are so welcome!
Here’s what you need:
5 Cups Borax
5 Cups Washing Soda
4 Fels Naptha bars of soap
The Walmart here carries these three items right next to each other on the soap and cleaner isle.
First, you will need to grate the bars of soap. If you have a food processor, that might work best. I don’t so I used my Kitchen Aid with the grater attachment.
I took my grated Fels Naptha and mixed it with the Borax and the Washing Soda in a large bucket.
Then I put a 2-3 cups at a time into my Vitamix to get it chopped up a little smaller.
Once finished, use 2 TBSP for a regular load or 1 TBSP for an HE washer or a small load.
