Thermal Imaging

FOR PREVENTATIVE HEALTH

Thermal imaging, or thermography, helps provide great insight about your body. A medical-grade camera takes pictures of your body's heat patterns and blood flow. There is no radiation, and it is completely noninvasive.

Although the screening is not diagnostic, it can give insight into premature disease and show where dysfunction exists in the body. The thermal screening should be used in conjunction with other modalities like mammograms, CT scans, and ultrasounds as part of a proactive health program.

The images from the examination are sent to a team of doctors that will read the images and then you will receive a report with their images and information of the clinical findings.

The imaging reports provide insight into Lymphatic congestion, breast pathology, arthritis, TMJ, inflammation, thyroid dysfunction, immune function, dental and periodontal disease, hormonal imbalances, ticks, disc disease, carotid artery flow, nerve function, and much more.

FAQs

  • Thermography is used to aid in the early detection of disease and pathology, determine risk factors, cause of pain, find areas of hot spots or inflammation, to identify an abnormal area for further diagnostic testing, to monitor healing and rehabilitation, to assess organ function, neurological issues, peripheral vascular insufficiently, degenerative, myofascial and overall immune health

  • Licensed and trained physicians who have years of experience interpreting thermal images interpret our thermography scans.

  • There are absolutely no risks or side effects of thermography. The procedure is safe, non-invasive, non-contact and there’s no radiation.

  • It usually takes between 30-60 minutes depending on the screening you choose.

Then you will receive a report within 5-10 business days in your client portal

  • Most insurance plans do not cover thermography. Payment is cash or credit card (no HSA/FSA cards).

We have found that some FSA and HSA accounts will reimburse for thermography. We’re happy to provide you with a receipt to submit for consideration to your FSA/HSA.

  • Thermography is a temperature gradient study, so in order to get good, clear, accurate images, we need to conduct the appointment in a slightly cool room. There are also certain do’s and don’ts prior to your appointment. Please see the client preparation document above.

Please inform our office if you are pregnant or nursing, have had a surgery or biopsy or are currently being treated with chemotherapy or radiation therapy. Thermography may not be an appropriate screening for you at this time.

  • If it is your first time having breast thermography, it is recommended to have a follow-up picture taken in 3-6 months to establish your baseline. Once the baseline is established, thermography should be done yearly.

  • Since thermography is non-invasive and delivers no radiation, this test can be done at any age! Mammograms are not recommended until 40 years old. This makes thermography an excellent option for younger women that want to be proactive about their breast health.

  • Thermography is not diagnostic. The Doctor will note areas of concern on your report. If this is your first thermography, you will be asked to return in 3-6 months to establish a baseline. This will help the doctor determine the severity of the concern. There are proactive things that can be done between your screenings - book a Holistic Health consult to personalize a protocol.
